- Any use of Tutorlink, whether as tutor, tutee or otherwise, is subject to the following terms and conditions.
Definitions
- "Tutorlink" is an internet- based operation and uses the website domain name, "www.tutorlink.org.uk" (“the Website”)
- A "tutee" is an individual who requires the services of a "tutor" or “instructor.” Although a tutee may themselves be under the age of 18, they will require the permission and assistance of a parent or guardian who is over the age of 18 to contact a "tutor" on the Tutorlink website.
- A "tutor" or “instructor” is an individual registered on the Tutorlink website who intends to tutor another individual.
- A “tutor” or “instructor” may be self employed in which case they are known as “independent.”
- A “tutor” ot “instructor” who is being promoted on the site by an “organisation” is known as an “Organisation tutor” or “Organisation instructor.”
- An “Organisation” is an established registered company that promotes a number of its own tutors or instructors.
Tutors/instructors
- All tutors/instructors must be over the age of 18.
- Tutors/instructors are not employees or agents of Tutorlink.
- Individuals who register as a "tutor"/”instructor” do so at their own risk, and deem themselves suitably qualified and experienced to tutor or instruct another individual.
- Individuals who register as a "tutor"/instructor,” and who place information on this the Website regarding their personal details and qualifications, must not register false, or indecent, defamatory or illegal information.
- Tutors/Instructors must pay for their profile space on the Website using PayPal directly to Tutorlink.
- The payment must be made in pounds sterling (GBP) at the rate set out from time to time on the Website.
- Payment is non-refundable and non-transferable.
- Payment is due before a tutor’s/instructor’s profile page becomes active.
- If a tutor/instructor permanently wishes to end their registration to no longer be registered on Tutorlink, they should remove their profile from the website.
- Any breach of the terms and conditions by a tutor/instructor or potential tutor/instructor will result in the offending individual's tutor’s/instructor’s profile being deleted and no refund will be given.
- Tutorlink reserves the right to terminate its relationship with a tutor/instructor, and to remove their profile from the website, at any time and for any reason.
Organisations
- Organisations who register as an "organisation,” and who place information on this the Website regarding their personal details and qualifications, must not register false, or indecent, defamatory or illegal information.
- Organisations must pay for their profile space on the Website, and their tutors’/instructors’ profile spaces using PayPal directly to Tutorlink.
- The payment must be made in pounds sterling (GBP) at the rate set out from time to time on the Website.
- Payment is non-refundable and non-transferable.
- Payment is due before a Organisation’s profile page or any of the Organisation’s tutors’/instructors’ pages becomes active.
- If an organisation permanently wishes to end their registration to no longer be registered on Tutorlink, they should remove their profile from the website, as well as those profiles of their tutors/instructors.
- Any breach of the terms and conditions by an Organisation (and/or their tutors/instructors) or potential Organisations (and/or potential Organisation’s tutors/instructors) will result in the offending Organisation’s profile (and all profiles belonging to that Organisation’s tutors/instructors) being deleted and no refund will be given.
- Tutorlink reserves the right to terminate its relationship with an organisation (including that organisation’s tutors/instructors), and to remove any profile from the website, at any time and for any reason.
Tutorlink’s role and responsibilities
- Tutorlink is purely an advertising and introductory service, passing on information about tutoring services provided by individuals registering on the site as an “independent tutor,” “independent instructor”, “Organisation,” “Organisation Tutor,” and “Organisation Instructor.”
- Tutorlink does not employ any tutors/instructors/organisations and Tutorlink accepts no responsibility for the actions or behaviour of the tutors/instructors/organisations registered on this website.
- Tutorlink does not offer or represent that tutors/instructors/organisations or tutees are available, or handle money being paid for tuition, and any arrangement or agreement for the provision of tuition is a matter for the relevant tutors/instructors/organisations and tutees and/or their parents or guardians.
- Tutorlink’s involvement ceases after an introduction is made by the advertisement of the tutor’s/instructor’s/organisation’s details.
Tutees
- Under-18 tutees must not contact tutors/instructors/organisations or Tutorlink without their parent or guardian’s involvement and consent.
- The tutee’s parents or guardian must ensure that any premises (work, home, etc...) used for the tuition conform to basic health and safety standards.
- If a tutee no longer wishes to be tutored by their tutor(s), it is their responsibility to notify the tutor(s)/instructor(s)/organisation(s).
- Tutorlink insists that the A parent or guardian of all under-18 tutees must be is present at all times and remains in the same room as the tutee when the tutee is in the presence of the tutor/instructor. Should the parent/guardian strongly believe that this should not be the case, then they are entitled to use their own discretion to leave the tutee and tutor/instructor alone together. It is the joint decision of the tutor and the tutee’s parent or guardian to arrange where and when to meet for tutorials.
General
- Any dispute is governed by English Law and England shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any such dispute.
- Tutorlink does not handle money on behalf of our customers or any third party.
